A Spring Garden Party was a wonderful way to honor our President, Ann Livengood, before her retirement. Flowers, fun dresses, hats and good food made the afternoon memorable. She will be missed.

2024 Topsail High School Scholarships
The Hampstead Women’s Club awarded a $2000 Estelle Batchelor scholarship to six Topsail High School students. Shane Johnson will attend Appalachian State and major in Recreation Management. Preston Walker plans to major in Biology at UNC-Chapel Hill. Paige Durham will attend LSU and major in Pre-Vet. Grace Deitz will major in Nursing at UNC-Charlotte. Caroline Stuart plans to major in Health Sciences at ECU. Haedyn Mills will attend UNC-Chapel Hill and major in Speech and Hearing Sciences.
In the past 22 years, the Hampstead Women’s Club has awarded over $188,000 in scholarships, thanks to the community’s donations to the Hampstead Thrift Shop.
2023 was a great year for us and we were so proud to give back over $79 thousand dollars to our local community.

This year was our first Valentine’s Party for our members and their guests
and everyone seemed to have a great time.There was food, music, and a photo booth to enjoy.
We were thrilled to be able to donate $53,322.13 back into our local community last year. (2022)

Dinner & Bingo
Part of the club’s purpose is to provide opportunites for our members to fellowship together. Activities are planned for members to come together, make new friends and enjoy fellowship. This month is was dinner and Bingo.

Halloween Fun 2021!
One of our favorite activities is participating in the community on Halloween. We dress up, pop popcorn, and pass out candy. We always have lots of laughs and really enjoy meeting new people. This year we were at the Surf City Truck or Treat.
Christmas Bazaar
Our annual Christmas Bazaar is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and is held the first weekend in December. Hundreds of new and gently used holiday items are for sale including trees, wreaths, ornaments, lights, yard decorations, jewelry, clothing and so much more. Be sure to mark your calendar, you don’t want to miss it!

Congratulations to Michael Erickson, Makayla Obremski, Luke Anders, and Jon Siemon for being this years HWC Estelle Batchelor’s Scholarship Recipients. Michael will attend N. C. State and major in computer science. Makayla will attend East Carolina University and major in elementary education. Luke has been accepted at Wake Forest and plans to major in political science. Jon will be majoring in mechanical engineering. Each student received at $2000.00 scholarship. We wish them continued success on their academic journey.

It’s been a long lonely year with COVID restrictions so we were all glad to get back together to show our appreciation for all the hard work our volunteers do to keep the store open. Our luncheon this year was held at JM’s on the water in Surf City were everyone enjoyed delicious seafood and a lot of laughs. June 2021
